the older women have been lovin' on my man lately. (they must know the good stuff when they see it)
first off, jon gets a huge container of cookies for christmas from the ladies at the Ottis Spunkmeyer shop where he works. (it is common knowledge at his workplace that these ladies love jon and think he is cute -and he takes care of all their heating and air conditioning needs. a chocolate poundcake was also given to him once, just because.)
next, while out grabbing a few chocolate goodies for christmas. jon helped an elderly woman carry all her things to her car. when he came back in, the ladies working in the chocolate shop found him and told him, with smiles on their faces, "YOU get TWO chocolates." they even let him pick out what chocolates he would like. i had a smile on my face too.
and most recently, a bridal shower was held at the farm for one of jon's cousins. afterward, the mother of the groom found out she had locked her keys in her car. mechanic jon grabbed an old hanger and was off. and before heading home, he grabbed a big wet one on the cheek.
I'm quite honored to be the wife of jon barker.
and since i am his wife now, it is thankfully no longer considered creepy when i find old pictures of him and post them to the blog to talk about how cute he is....
look at that kid.

the first day of the year.
the horses came home from off the pasture. (they come back with loads of burrs.)
jon trimmed their hooves.
the dogs chewed the hoof trimmings.
we went to the cabin.
went sledding with jackson and kash.
once done sledding, to keep the boys occupied, we played a nice game of "toilet".
yes, i teach children good, wholesome games.
just to clarify, i sit on the edge of a chair and my lap becomes the toilet. and my right pointer finger becomes the flush handle. the boys did a lot of flushing today.
heres to:
less procrastinating.
more scripture reading.
less hiding from people.
finishing/cleaning out the "blue room."
installing a dryer.
getting organized.
being more patient and understanding.
happy new year.
