the farmer kid

picking up rocks. 

i will admit, i did not know i was in for quite a few surprises when i decided i would like to REALLY get to know jon. (mostly a lot of good surprises) but one thing that was never a surprise: jon is a hard worker. HARD worker.

while i often tell him that i value, love, respect and look up to him for that trait, i will admit there are days where i feel quite the opposite about it.. and i have teased him before for being "just the guy that sleeps in my bed".

jon usually laughs about it with me but then is soon right back to work.

and i don't what it is, but this past month i have been feeling really ready to begin my summer. and by that i mean horse rides, maybe weekend getaways, hikes, BBQ's, but mostly relaxed easy days just with jon.

due to a slight shortage of staff at work i am now at the work place monday through friday and every other saturday. the hours aren't bad and i have worked more than what i am now. but i was looking forward to having some slower days once school got out, and because that is not happening the way i would have liked it to, i have been quite the boob lately. i'm getting sick of me.

another problem: jon is a hard worker. he works his full time job. he works the farm job (first hay crop = very busy). he helps pick up large landscaping rocks for my parents. he helps place those large rocks where they want them. he helps fix up their driveway. he helps a neighbor with car problems. he helps his cousin with car problems. he helps another neighbor with car problems. he helps that neighbor again. he helps my parents with car problems. he helps his family with car problems. he helps his brother rebuild his humvee. he helps a neighbor remove large tree trunks out of their yard. he agrees to possibly haul those trunks off for them. he builds a chicken/duck/turkey coup. then he helps me by doing laundry and dishes and mowing the lawn all before i get home from my job. he has done all these things in the past few weeks.

he has been just the guy that sleeps in my bed.

I'm feeling a little husband deprived and i daydream of going away with him somewhere without any work.

i think jon may even be doing a little of that too (although i really think he wants time to just be jon for a little). i have only seen jon get burnt out a couple of times. and recently i have seen it again. he is very good at just getting up and doing the work without any complaint (in fact, he would rather be working than just sitting around) but recently i have been letting him vent. and he has been letting me vent too.

i know my easy summer days with jon will come. just need a little patience.
