a few days before that discovery, after refereeing a church young women's volleyball game, one of the moms came up to me and asked, "well aren't you a young woman yourself?" (young women, in mormon language, means girls ages 12-18) i smiled, told her that i wouldn't mind being able to join them but that i was, in fact, not a young woman anymore. she then asked "oh, well weren't you just last year?" After acting surprised at my age of almost 25, i explained to her i was actually quite used to this kind of thing...
at the dentist, i was told i had papers that needed to be signed and updated. After gesturing that i was willing to do that, i was first asked, "do you have a parent with you?" followed by, "are you at least 18?"... In school, and once while working as a snowboarding instructor, people around me were vocally expressive about their surprise in learning my age and/or that i was married. on other occasions, my younger sisters have both had the chance of being perceived as being my older sisters.
recently, after expressing concern and hoping that my behavior and actions weren't the reasons for my perceived younger age, jon reassured me that it was most likely just my total lack of curves and acne.
awesome. (glad he's honest. ha ha)
and at least it's safe to assume no one has noticed any gray...
