he tries to keep this one a secret, but i have to share: valentine's day = jon's birthday. I LOVE IT!!
from an outsider's perspective, jon knows he can seem little distant, and unapproachable. a little rough around the edges. (like this picture is so nicely illustrating.)
maybe that's why i love it so much. because, to me, being born on the 14th could not have been any more perfect for him.
he may hate that, as a little boy, he got called the "love baby" by peers, but let me tell you, this farmer kid carries with him an outstanding love for those around him.
he is very aware of others. (example: despite his very little spare time, he will sit in the car with his buddy for hours -like a couple of girls- because his bud just went through a tough breakup. he gets calls, almost daily, from an older man he sells hay to, just to talk. noticed a man looking for change in vending machines, and walked over to him and handed him all his spare change. helped a little kid pay for his candy while standing in line. and of course there are countless car repairs, super early mornings to help out on the farm, plenty of elderly ladies' groceries that he has helped with, and laundry, dishes and dinner are often done before i get to them. ...oh, and even animals- his rule: i do not eat until they have eaten.)
and what a perfect day for me to reflect on, to be grateful for, and to celebrate this wonderful love and friend of mine.
